May 2, 2022

Laughlin, Nev. – (May 2, 2022) – Golden Entertainment, Inc. has rolled out the company’s esteemed “Chairman’s Awards” at Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort, where 14 team members were honored for exemplary and sometimes life-saving acts performed while on the job.
The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious recognition Golden Entertainment awards to a team member who, in extraordinary circumstances, acts in a manner that ennobles themselves and the company by extraordinary acts of service.
“The difference between life and death can often mean taking immediate, decisive action,” said Steve Arcana, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Golden Entertainment. “We are incredibly proud of these award recipients, who demonstrated extreme bravery and potentially saved lives.”
Several award recipients were recognized for their immediate and lifesaving actions, which included performing CPR on a guest who had become unconscious during a car accident. Other team members were honored for acting quickly to revive a guest who collapsed from a medical emergency, for delivering a baby in a guest’s room before paramedics arrived, and for successfully executing the Heimlich maneuver on a choking guest, among other heroic feats.
“All of us at Aquarius and Edgewater are honored to work alongside these outstanding team members, who acted on instinct to ultimately save several lives, and, in one instance, even help welcome a new life by aiding in the swift arrival of a guest’s baby,” said Sean Hammond, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Aquarius Casino Resort and Edgewater Casino Resort.
Arcana and Hammond presented the heroic team members with The Chairman’s Awards at the ceremony, which was held in Splash Lounge at Aquarius Casino Resort. The recipients include Mark A., Wayne B., David D., Theodore D., Brandon G., Harold G., Angel G., Garrett H., Robert M., Miguel N. and Chad W. from the security team; lifeguards Ryan L. and Jessi R.; and Edward R., emergency response team manager.
The awarded recipients and executives from both properties and Golden Entertainment later posed for photos and attended a reception with desserts and other refreshments throughout the remainder of the event.
