Oatman
One of the most popular sites in the region and located along famous Route 66, Oatman is a historic gold mining town founded in 1906 as a tent camp for miners. Oatman is located 18 miles southeast of Bullhead City, Ariz. on Highway 95 and up boundary Cone Road into the Black Mountains. Featuring quaint shops, restaurants and saloons with live entertainment, Oatman is one attraction not to be missed. Town landmarks include the wild burros that roam the streets, as well as the Oatman Gunfighters, who stage showdowns and shootouts on the town’s main street- Route 66.
Colorado River/Lakes
Enjoy water activities, fishing and more on the beautiful Colorado River and nearby Lake Mohave. Personal watercraft, jet ski and boat rentals are available through various local watercraft rental companies, as well as at the Riverwalk outside of the Edgewater. If you’re interested in fishing, bass, striper, catfish and trout can be found year-round in the Colorado River and Lake Mohave (a valid state fishing license is required). |
